New Years Resolution?

January 6, 2010

Here we are at the start of a new year, with the best of intentions and hoping for a fresh start. Please give a thought to people living with cancer who are fighting to regain a normal life for themselves and their families.

Macmillan Cancer Support has warned that improved cancer survival rates have left thousands of people struggling with serious illness, long after their treatment has stopped.

If you’d really like to do something constructive, please think about sponsoring me to run the London Marathon in April (and the Kilomathon in March) and help me to raise lots and lots of money to help people like Karen Theobald. Karen suffered with cancer, but did not know about the lasting impact it would have.  You can read Karen’s story by clicking Cancer sufferers ‘facing neglect’ as reported by the BBC today.

Macmillan Cancer Support needs your help now. Please make a New Year’s resolution to help them.  Thank you.

    Hi Joanna
I’m the Karen you mention in your ‘blurb’ from the BBC/Macmillan campaign for people suffering side effects post treatment for cancer. I’d just like to say well done on your endeavours and I wish you all the best! Thanks for reminding people that sometimes it means living with more problems than you started with! Hopefully this will help give more press to the problem and help people help Macmillan with their campaign.
    Bye for now
    Karen x

PS. I tried ‘contacting you’ via the link but it didn’t work :-(
