As a very keen runner, I also have as much of an interest in music and despite trying to run my races without music I still feel educated enough, with a wide ranging musical taste, to provide the odd tune, motivational masterpiece and guilty pleasure to increase my tempo or put a smile on my face.
Highlights from my running playlist include MK Ultra by Muse, The Trooper by Iron Maiden a d Knucklebones by Dave Lee Roth. The latter puts a smile on my face and reminds me of the moment my brother, belting it out from his mark two ford escort, overtook on a bend and somehow missed the car coming in the opposite direction. Luckily the vehicle was unharmed as it was a fine example of a car that was 15 years old in the early nineties. Knucklebones is probably an apt name for my brothers actions on that day, or should that be knuckle head? But for me, the one piece of music that gets my pulse racing, which really connects with my love for running is the theme tune to Rocky. Who can not think that has a place on every running playlist. It would certainly be my first choice! So, there you go. It does not start to break the surface of the love I have for music. Oh, and for that guilty pleasure. Raining Men by The Weather Girls
